What Are You Tired Of?

Tired of Tired

I’m tired.

I’m tired of being tired of hearing tired of feeling tired.

I’m tired of chronic illness and its company, brain fog, fatigue, weakness, lightheaded, which are all other words for tired.

I’m tired of the heat and humidity, which adds to the fatigue, which reminds me of chronic illness, which is a word I am tired of hearing.

It’s exhausting. It’s a self perpetuating cycle, the tired is tiring.

I’m tired of the old stories of the patient disempowered, living in a place of I-can’t and too-much and not-feeling-good.

I’m tired of impulses and habits from the past that still taunt the present, and tired of the beliefs that keep me in stuck places. I’m tired of comparisons. And of judgment, too. We are all living our own timelines, our own paths. We all feel tired sometimes.

I’m tired, but I’m going to show up. (And tired-voice says: I’m tired of showing up! Tired of pushing myself, tired of trying to follow through!)

Oof!

And in writing this, I feel better. It’s a small thing, but it is an act of showing up. Following through. It’s training a muscle, a new habit, another mode of being. Tired is here, but it is not everything.

Sometimes tired-voice just wants some space to be heard, to say, fuck-it.

And that’s twenty five minutes. As per the infographic below, I did the act, I did and I can, and now I celebrate. Even while tired.

cheers
